Market Finds

Just had a quick run through the local market, and found two bargains:

Buttons

This was all of ten cents. It is a set of pre-1966 shell buttons, on their original card. Pity the ten cents price was written on there in pen. But then, I might have had a greater crisis of conscience otherwise about removing them from the card.

(For non-Australians - if the price is imperial - pounds shillings and pence, as this is - it is pre 1966)

Broach

With it was this rather nice little compound metal broach, for 40 cents. This one is delicate enough to be stitched down, and maybe its bulkiness broken with some ribbon woven through it.

Into the stash with it.

Still too busy to blog much - I am off to Canberra for a week tomorrow, but things may settle down a little after that. It needs to, as I have a yearning to work in odd colours - I can feel something autumn creeping up on me.

In the meantime, I have posted a few more pages in the Craig's Needlework Book.

Oh stunning finds and I love the brooch. Very different. Enjoy Canberra - I will catch up when you return.

It's always great to find buttons on their original card - I prefer to collect them this way than loose (though I have many loose buttons anyway), and so many of the cards have great graphics on them too!
10c eh! good price!

Linda, I hope your mother is doing better. When you get this, could you please send me your mailing address? I only have parts of it. I need to send you a charm if I may. Thanks.Pat
